Orlando Pirates midfielder attracts interest from rivals!

Orlando Pirates look to be ready to shake up their midfield at the end of the current season, with a couple of players linked to an exit.

Orlando Pirates look to be ready to shake up their midfield at the end of the current season, with a couple of players linked to an exit.

Pirates have also been linked to midfielders, which further fuels the speculation that the likes of Fortune Makaringe could be making way.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the futures of midfielders Makaringe as well as Ben Motshwari of late, with one’s Pirates future thought to be hanging in the balance, while the other is believed to have turned down the terms of a new deal at the club, and willing to leave his beloved club in the chase for more playing time elsewhere.

On top of the futures of Makaringe and Motshwari, there has also been speculation regarding the likes of Goodman Mosele as well as new signing Makhehlene Makaula. It was previously reported by this publication that Mosele had put in a transfer request after a combination of injuries and falling out of favour have contributed to his lack of game time at Pirates this season.

For Makaula, it is rumoured that the clubs management might not have agreed with his signing and that he could be either sent out on loan or released without even completing a season at his boyhood club. Speaking of being released, it has already been confirmed agent Mike Makaab that his client Nkanyiso Zungu, a midfielder who was on loan to Richards Bay FC this season, will not have his contract renewed at Pirates.

While it remains to be seen what the future holds for the midfielders mentioned above, according to Soccer-Laduma, that Makaringe already has a possible suitor lurking for his services, should he decide to leave Pirates. 

Sekhukhune United interested in Makaringe

“It seems the two sides have been talking and the indications are that Sekhukhune wants to bring in Makaringe during the off-season. Their technical team are convinced that if he joins the club he will add value to the team. His talent and experience are what they’re looking for to add to their squad.” Said a source to the publication.

Sekhukhune have gained a reputation for turning around the fortunes of some veteran players or fringe players discarded by some top clubs in the country. One example from Pirates is Makaringe’s former teammate Linda Mntambo who captains the team. Ba bina noko could another chance to see the player up close, when they compete for the Nedbank Cup trophy at Loftus on 27 May.
