On Friday, reports coming out of Cameroon claimed that both Pirates and Coton Sport had agreed a deal worth just below R3.5 million for Souaibou to move to the MTN8 champions.

No official word from either side at this stage, but all we know is that Pirates have already exceeded their foreign quota.

And with Souaibou now set to join the Sea Robbers, the management has to decide on who to let go from their five foreign internationals.

As things stand, Pirates have Richard Ofori (Ghana), Olisa Ndah (Nigeria), Terrence Dzvukamanja (Zimbabwe), Kwame Peprah (Ghana) and Bienvenu Eva Nga (Cameroon) as their five foreign internationals.

Pirates recently turned down a lucrative offer for Peprah, according to media reports as they deemed him important after scoring nine goals last season.

Eva Nga, on the other hand, arrived from Chippa United on the back of scoring 10 goals, and Pirates might be eager to give him a chance to prove himself.

And that leaves Pirates with only Dzvukamanja to sacrifice…

The left-footed striker joined Pirates at the start of the 2020-21 season, meaning he’s in the final season with them, and with a single appearance to his name this term, he could be the one making way for Souaibou.

After all, Dzvukamanja has done little to justify his stay at Pirates beyond January. He has scored just four goals in 58 matches played since his arrival from Bidvest Wits.

He has a better goalscoring record at Wits than at Pirates. He scored 15 goals in 60 games for the Students over two years.
