Orlando Pirates starlet Boitumelo Radiopane put on yet another stellar performance for the Buccaneers Diski Challenge side this afternoon.

Radiopane bagged four goals against Swallows FC in their DStv Diski Challenge meeting on Saturday afternoon.

The Orlando Pirates starlet’s four goals in one match means he moves four goals clear at the top of the scoring charts with 13 goals after 13 matches.

The 5-1 victory means the Buccaneers are now six points clear of Stellenbosch on the DStv Diski Challenge log standings however the Cape outfit have one game in hand.

Orlando Pirates starlet continues fine form!

Boitumelo Radiopane who has been bouncing around between the Orlando Pirates first team and reserve team this season has continued his red-hot form.

The 19-year-old marksman bagged a near perfect hatrick on Saturday afternoon in his side’s 5-1 win over Swallows FC.

Radiopane has made four appearances for the Buccaneers first team this season.Despite his fine form at reserve level, coach Mandla Ncikazi believes the time is ‘not right’ to throw the youngster into the deep end.

“My general feeling, I’m a development coach who has been promoted into the position that I’m in now,” Orlando Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi said late last year as quoted by Sowetan.

“I love using youngsters and new players. I don’t believe in the recycled panel of players bringing something new. But now you must do that and win.

“There are quite a few youngsters at Orlando Pirates that we want to bring up, but the process of doing that must be perfect. The timing must be good, there is Boitumelo Radiopane, Thabiso Monyane, who went into the Olympics.

“But when do you use them? Do you use them under the current situation where you are desperate for points? The timing has to be right because we can either promote them or kill them. We have to try and protect them and when the opportunity is correct, we will use them.”

Orlando Pirates have struggled in front of goal this season with their top goal scorers (Deon Hotto and Kwame Peprah) only reaching the four goal mark at the halfway point of the season.

Is it time for Boitumelo Radiopane to be thrown into the deep end to help remedy the Buccaneers’ goal scoring crisis?
