Orlando Pirates have officially unveiled Makhehleni Makhaula as their latest signing from AmaZulu effective immediately.

Makhaula’s move to Pirates had already been confirmed by AmaZulu as reported by The South African website on PSL transfer deadline day.

However, what was unclear was how long the 33-year-old midfielder would be at Pirates for now that he has left AmaZulu.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Pirates confirmed that Makhaula will be their player for the next one-and-a-half year.

This means Makhaula’s contract will expire in June 2024 – and Pirates would hope he gives them exactly what they expect from him.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula from AmaZulu on a one-and-a-half-year deal,” reads part of the statement.
