Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele has reached a HUGE milestone in the colours of the club to cement his legendary status.

Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele has reached a HUGE milestone in the colours of the club to cement his legendary status.

On Saturday, Jele became the first Pirates player to feature in 400 official top-flight games in the PSL era.

He achieved this with a start against Swallows FC whom the Buccaneers were meeting for the second time this season.

Jele had already cemented his legendary status for Pirates by breaking a long-standing appearance (375) record set by Williams Okpara.

The 34-year-old defender has been with Pirates all his professional career since arriving at Mayfair as a teenager in 2006.

He has won all the domestic trophies on offer since making his professional debut against Martizburg United in 2006.

Jele was also instrumental when Pirates won a double treble between 2011 and 2012, as he scored some crucial goals leading up to the success.

He was also heavily involved when Pirates reached the finals of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
