The Buccaneers are known to be secretive when it comes to player contracts, and The South African has found only four stars that are in the final six months of their deals.

Nonetheless, given Jele’s loyalty to Pirates, chances of him signing a pre-contract with another team are non-existent.

After all, the 35-year-old has been with Pirates all his professional life, and if he still wants to continue playing, chances are that he will be given a contract extension.

Ndlovu joined Pirates on a three-year deal from Maritzburg United in 2019, and that contract is coming to an end this year.

If there is one player that needs to reconsider his future is none other Ndlovu because of his lack of game time.

At 25, Ndlovu is at the peak of his career and should be playing regularly but that hasn’t been the case with him at Pirates this season.

SIYABONGA MPONTSHANE

Mpontshane has done well for himself and the Buccaneers so far this season by filling in for the injured Richard Ofori.

And his situation is different in the sense that Pirates have an option to renew his contract by a further year come June.

While Pirates clearly need younger goalkeepers in their squad, the presence of Mpontshane is certainly what they will need for the next few years.

WAYNE SANDILANDS

This could be Sandilands’ final season as a player at Pirates after rumours emerged in 2021 that he could take up the goalkeeper coaching role.
