In an exclusive interview with SABC Sport, Broos revealed that he was denied entry when Pirates hosted Mamelodi Sundowns at the venue.

And Broos said he was upset that Pirates, as the home team, denied him and his technical team access into the Orlando Stadium.

The incident still happened even though Broos and his team had their PSL accreditation for them to gain access.

And in the end, the entire Bafana Bafana technical team that wanted to watch Pirates and Sundowns live from the stadium, left to watch the game on Television.

What left Broos more disappointed and surprised is the fact Dr. Irvin Khoza, who is the Pirates chairman, is also the vice-president at the South African Football Association (SAFA).

“I have to mention I am also, I’m really upset. We would have liked to see the game between Pirates and Sundowns, but they did not allow us to go in the stadium,” revealed Broos.

“We couldn’t enter at 3pm. We were not allowed to enter the stadium, and we had an accreditation of the league. They said, ‘no this is not enough. If I let you in, I lose my job’,” he recalled.

“I don’t understand that. We are coaches of the national team, and there is a team (Pirates) who don’t allow us into the stadium to see a game of their team,” he expressed his disappointment.

“Surprisingly is that the chairman of the team (Irvin Khoza) is the vice-president of SAFA. I didn’t believe it. So, we have to go back.

“My assistant was there. So, I phoned him and said, ‘come with us and come and watch the game [on] SuperSport TV’. It is unacceptable, really unacceptable,” added Broos.
