The Buccaneers will be desperate for a positive result after their lacklustre performance in a 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns last time out. City also lost last time out against SuperSport. The Mother City side has alternated neatly between losses and wins in their last five, underlining how inconsistent they’ve been. Jose Riveiro’s side has struggled for fluency in front of goal, scoring just nine times in 14 league outings.

Orlando Pirates will have Craig Martin available for selection against City, as well Ndumiso Mabena who starts his second stint with the club. They’ll be hoping that the pair can help with their goal-scoring woes.

“There have been some mid-season personnel changes at both camps, most notably Craig Martin’s recent move from City to Pirates,” they stated.

“The speedy wing-back is now eligible for a start against his old club along with striker Ndumiso Mabena, who is back for a second stint at the Buccaneers.”

29-year-old Martin made 152 appearances for City, scoring 14 goals and assisting a further 10. Mabena, meanwhile, netted 28 times in 138 games for Royal AM, and scored eight goals in 72 matches during his first spell with the Buccaneers.
