Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro believes that he can help the team shed their goal-shy nature thus far this season.

The Spaniard is eager to see his team provide more end product despite his team having worked their way to the top of the table.

Can Orlando Pirates find goals?

Orlando Pirates have scored just four goals in six outings, returning two draws, a loss and three 1-0 wins.

Riveiro said: “My role is to find ways, everywhere and whatever happens and whatever the opponents propose to find the goal changes.

“To avoid chances, that’s what we do. Our job basically is to avoid chances from the opponents and create chances when we are in possession and that’s what we do every single week and in every training (session).

“So, following that logic, if we create more, we’re going to have more possibilities to score.

“This game is about probabilities, if we need to create more chances, we will do it.

“But once again, it is not about striker only in our days to score goals.

“Sometimes you have a striker who is in a beautiful moment (on form) and everything he touches is going to the net but then suddenly they are having a moment where it is not,” said Riveiro, speaking to the media.

“Think about the number of players that we usually have on the field. Forget about the positions, just think about profiles.

“So, there’s many players with capacity to score. Even when we are in set pieces, we have players with capacity to score which are not number nines.

“Like I said before, they shouldn’t carry that pressure anymore that they need to score in every single game.

“Sometimes they will score and sometimes they will create the space like in the previous game against Royal AM when Eva Nga did beautiful marking to the first post and got two players with him and then Hotto came and scored.

“It was important what Hotto did but also important what Eva Nga did in order to create that space. It’s a collective game,” the coach added.
