Orlando Pirates’ former duo Thabo Matlaba and Thandani Ntshumayelo are teammates at Swallows FC these days. The former has now sworn Ntshumayelo will soon show what he is all about on the pitch.

FORMER ORLANDO PIRATES STAR WILL BE BACK TO HIS BEST AT SWALLOWS SAYS MATLABA

As we reported here at The South African, Thandani Ntshumayelo was given one of the best lifelines in local football last season. The Heilbron-born midfielder was the loneliest player in the country when he became clubless after testing positive for cocaine use while he was still an Orlando Pirates footballer.

After an extended period as an unemployed footballer, Ntshumayelo’s fans could not believe the news when Swallows decided to sign the SuperSport United academy graduate.

While Ntshumayelo has so far struggled to earn a regular place in the Swallows team, Matlaba, who watches him week in, week out, is confident that the 31-year-old “Bibo” will be back!

“The guy is working very hard and he wants to see himself playing. It’s just that the situation that we are in at the moment is very difficult for coaches to make a lot of changes because the team is not doing well,” Matlaba said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“Let us wait for the team to start doing well again and people will see the best of Bibo. In training, the guy is doing everything well and is just waiting for his time and he can’t be thrown into the deep end immediately because the team is not doing well,” added Matlaba.

LIONEL MESSI IMPRESSED BY SIWAHLA

In other news, a former Ajax Cape Town player, Mkhanyiseli “Ntsimbi” Siwahla, has reminded us all how he once caught Lionel Messi’s eye.

Siwahla said he was once invited to trial at Barcelona where he rubbed shoulders with the likes of Messi.

“During the matches, we played and at training, Messi was very impressed with what I was doing. Most of the time he didn’t even call for the ball from me because he knew he would get it,” said Siwahla. Read the full story here.
