SUSPECTS ROB ORLANDO PIRATES LEGEND’S RESTAURANT

Anybody that lives in Gauteng and is a follower of the Sea Robbers or local football should know Lekgwathi’s restaurant Grootman in Soweto – yet this did not deter criminal suspects from ambushing the food outlet with guns.

According to the former defender, four men arrived at the premises carrying guns before escaping staff valuables and cash.

“At around 7pm four people came into the shop, one lady and three guys,” Lekgwathi said in a video posted on social media on Thursday.

CASHIER HIT WITH A GUN

The Garankuwa-born former player added to reveal that one of his staff was assaulted with a pistol.

Lekgwathi said the incident happened while he was at his home before he rushed to the scene and called the police.

“They robbed the shop and our staff their phones. They hit one of our cashiers with a gun and he was admitted to hospital,” the player who was known as ‘Phinda Mzala’ added.

“I was at home. I had to rush to the shop. I called the police and opened a case. They came and took fingerprints.

“Our main focus was the safety of the staff. I just want to appeal to the public to help us identify the suspects. Please if you know the suspects, please come to Grootman or goto Booysens Police Station,” Lekgwathi concluded.
