Orlando Pirates squander opportunity to climb up!

Orlando Pirates squandered the opportunity to move up the PSL log as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Golden Arrows on Friday night.

Orlando Pirates squandered the opportunity to move up the PSL log as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Golden Arrows on Friday night.

Siphesihle Maduna opened the scoring after Richard Ofori had conceded a penalty in the first half but Veli Mothwa scored an own goal from a Kermit Erasmus attempt.

Pirates had a chance to go ahead in the second half but Mothwa denied Nkosinathi Sibisi from the spot.

As a result, Pirates remained fifth on the log with 16 points from 11 games while AmaZulu also remained ninth with 12 points from 10 games.

The star of the game was Mothwa despite the own goal as he made several match-winning saves to deny Pirates on the night, especially in the second half.
