“The game didn’t start as we expected to start with it. They played quite direct straight to the two strikers. We had some problems dealing with the second balls,” Riveiro said on SuperSport TV after the match.

“Especially we become a bit large to pick up the second ones, there were the actions where they were more aggressive and dangerous, nothing more than that.

“It’s true that the beginning of the game was not in the intensity that we were supposed to play here tonight. We just reacted straight after the goal,” he said.

“Credit to the players. The way they reacted after the goal and the way we pushed in the second half. The fact that their goalkeeper is a hero tonight it tells about the nature of the second half.”

The Sea Robbers would also have drawn level on points with Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the table had they bagged a full house on Friday.
