Orlando Pirates centre-back Olisa Ndah will remain with the Soweto giants for the 2023/24 season, according to his representative, Mike Makaab.

Despite a challenging campaign marred by injuries, Ndah’s future with the Buccaneers is secure.

While the Nigerian international made a significant impact in the first half of the season, featuring in 16 out of 17 matches and playing a pivotal role in Orlando Pirates’ MTN8 triumph, injuries kept him sidelined for a considerable portion of the second half.

Ndah was limited to just one appearance during the latter half of the season.

Before his injury, Olisa Ndah had attracted interest from Italian club Sassuolo, positioning him for a potential move away from Orlando Pirates.

However, the setback thwarted his transfer prospects, leading Makaab to confirm Ndah’s commitment to the Buccaneers.

Responding to inquiries about Ndah’s future, Makaab stated on Twitter, “He is definitely staying.”

Ndah now faces stiff competition from emerging talent Sandile Mthethwa and the possible return of loaned-out player Thabiso Sesane, as he vies for a place in the starting line-up.

Orlando Pirates also won the Nedbank Cup this season and finished second in the DStv Premiership standings.

They will represent South Africa in next season’s CAF Champions League.
