The Chilli Boys appointed Eymael as their technical advisor on Monday pending clarity from SAFA on whether or not the coach can work in the PSL.

However, Chippa United decided to withdraw Eymael’s appointment following an outcry from both football fans around the country and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the Eastern Cape.

Chippa Mpengesi had called an urgent meeting on Wednesday morning where Eymael’s appointment and future was discussed.

And the management eventually succumbed to the pressure from across the country to release Eymael from his contract with Chippa United.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Chippa United said Eymael requires more time to clear his name.

Furthermore, the Chilli Boys maintained that they are against any form of racism.

THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Chippa have decided not to continue with Eymael’s appointment, who will proceed to return to Belgium.

It is clear that Eymael himself requires further time to clear his name. He has reassured the club that he will, in his own capacity take legal action concerning his rights, including the dissemination of the offending media clip through his own lawyers.

We, as a club, maintain our stance against racism of any form and wish to make it clear that our intended appointment of Eymael would not have happened were the allegations against him have been validated in any form.
