Ntshangase is gone! Who are the other seven stars to leave Kaizer Chiefs?

Siphelele Ntshangase has already left Kaizer Chiefs who are still expected to part ways with more players, and the question is, who’s next?

Kaizer Chiefs were set to be in the process of releasing no less than eight players ahead of what is expected to be a major overhaul next season.

Siphelele Ntshangase has already left Naturena after requesting to be released three months before the expiry of his contract.

The decision to want to leave Chiefs didn’t come as a major surprise given the midfielder’s lack of game time since joining the club from Baroka in January 2018.

Ntshangase managed just 38 appearances and two assists during his three-year stint with the club, and given the high expectations after being signed, the stats are quite disappointing.

Nonetheless, it’s now water under the bridge as he’s a free agent, meaning Chiefs can now focus on who the next seven players to release are.

There are a number of players who haven’t done well for Chiefs this season, including those that have been with the club for years.

Some of them will see their contracts expire at the end of the season, and only their performances in the remaining matches of the season will see them survive the axe.

Those players include Willard Katsande, Bernard Parker, Khama Billiat, Kgotso Moleko, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Lebogang Manyama to name but a few.

Of course, some of those players have options for renewal on their current contracts but that’s entirely up to Chiefs to trigger those options given their contribution.

The silence from the Chiefs management on whether or not those players will be staying is deafening but there is hope that they are working on it after handing Siyabonga Ngezana a new three-year deal on Friday.

But those whose futures aren’t certain should work twice as hard to earn new deals.

As things stand, it’s unclear who the seven other players could be, but more changes are still expected at Naturena.
