Chippa United striker Bienvenu Eva Nga could reportedly still finalise a deal with Kaizer Chiefs, possibly as soon as this week.

Recently, Chiefs were widely reported to be keen on bringing Chippa United striker Bienvenu Eva Nga to Naturena, but this move was then seemingly set to fall through.

Previous reports suggested Nga was coming out of contract at the end of June and could join Chiefs as a free agent if the various parties were able to sign off on terms.

Now, according to KickOff.com, meetings were held last week when he travelled to Johannesburg, with further negotiations set to continue on Thursday. If the Chiefs move fails to materialise, it’s also reported that there are a couple other options on the table.

Chiefs are known to be on the hunt for a striker, and the KickOff report suggests that what makes the deal with Nga “attractive” is that his package is not unreasonable as he simply seeks an improvement on what he is earning at Chippa, while aiming to join a ‘stable’ club.

Interestingly, though, it was also recently suggested that the deal was off.

“Yes, the deal is off, we couldn’t agree on personal terms and as things stand, it doesn’t look like Eva Nga will be going to Chiefs as initially planned,” the player’s agent Charles Domingoea had told iDiski Times.

With that in mind it will be interesting to see what plays out this week.

Meanwhile, according to multiple reports, Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly made a breakthrough in the pursuit of signing Stellenbosch skipper Zitha Kwinika – who was recently linked with the Soweto giants.

Kwinika is a Chiefs academy product, but had been sold outright to Chippa United around 2015, while he has enjoyed spells at Bidvest Wits and Stellenbosch.

According to Soccer Laduma, Kwinika is on the club’s list of potential new additions for the new term, with the Siya crew reporting on “good authority” that Amakhosi have made a breakthrough and that he could be returning to Naturena “should all the finer details be agreed to in the coming weeks”.

Meanwhile, iDiski Times reported that personal terms had apparently been agreed with Chiefs, while also settling on a transfer for an undisclosed fee.

Kwinika recently indicated that he would be interested in a move to a top team such as Chiefs

“In this instance, I put something to you. I’ve been ready! I played for Wits. They were a big team and so was Chippa, they are in the big league. So, it shows that if I’m competing with those people, then I’m ready if that’s the case,” Kwinika said.

“But for me to stand up with pride and confidence, then I need to win things at Stellenbosch and say I need to move here. I’ve got everything I need to go to a bigger challenge – but how do I say I want a bigger challenge when at Stellenbosch I’m just playing.

“So, my motivation for me is to do well where I am so that I can have the power to say no, now I need something you understand? Where I stand now, I don’t have powers to say no, I deserve to go there.

“If I deserve to go there, they will come ask me. What did you win? I’ve got nothing! So, what’s pushing me is to try to achieve what I can achieve at Stellenbosch. Then I can come back and say there’s improvement in my game.

But trust me, if any challenge comes to me on any given day, I’ll be ready because I’ve proven for the past five years, six years, I’ve been playing in this league and I’m playing against those people, so I don’t see anything stopping me from playing for any other team in this country,” he concluded.
