“Ja, look he gave us the extra oomph we were looking for,” Zwane told SuperSport after the game

“We were so much aggressive, we gave them no space, we were pressing them, we knew that we’ll win that midfield battle, we just needed to be a little bit aggressive going forward,” he explained.

“When he came on he gave us that, that’s why we managed to score the second goal.”

No relief from the pressure of the job

Zwane insists that the win doesn’t take the heat off him at all as the expectations are always high at Kaizer Chiefs.

“Not really, I’ve always said I didn’t come to this game as a coach under pressure and all that, because I know that we’ve been doing well to be quite honest and we’ve just been not scoring goals,” he went on.

“And also conceding goals we shouldn’t have, sometimes sloppy defending let us down but when you look at the games this season (year) we were just unfortunate not to win most of them, even that game against Sundowns.

“But I’m happy for the boys more than me, don’t worry about me, I’ve always been in this game, as long as we do the job, we know what’s the plan, it’s about that, it’s about the future of this club,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss added.

Chiefs are next in action on Sunday when they travel to the Mbombela Stadium to face TS Galaxy.

That DStv Premiership encounter kicks off at 15:30.
