Nasreddine Nabi’s move to Kaizer Chiefs might be delayed after his current club FAR Rabat reached the final of the Throne Cup.

The 58-year-old mentor is expected to take over as Amakhosi coach later this month but with him reaching the final, that might change. His side managed to beat MAS de Fes in the Throne Cup semi-final this past weekend. FAR will now face the winner between Josef Zinnbauer’s Raja Athletic Club and Oujda.

According to reports, Nabi has already made a move to join Kaizer Chiefs after just one season with the Moroccan club. Speaking after the semi-final, the Tunisian coach said he hoped to be present for the final.

“My greeting to the fans is out of love and not a farewell to the club. I am present in the final and we welcome any opponent who is able to reach the final confrontation,” the former Yanga SC coach stated.

Nasreddine Nabi’s move to Kaizer Chiefs delayed

“I hope to attend the Throne Cup final, God Almighty willing. I learned from friends of mine inside Raja some time ago about the final date and it was said that it will be the 30th of this month. Therefore, before I leave for Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa – to have my experience with them, I hope to guide The Royal Army. I will be crowned with them in the Throne Cup final.”

Amakhosi to start preseason training without Nabi and his tech team?

The final of the Throne Cup is set to take place on the 30th which will then see Nabi move to Kaizer Chiefs in July. Amakhosi have not made the news official but it’s just a matter of time. The arrival to Naturena could be delayed and that could also halt their preseason training which is supposed to kick off in the next few days.
