Chiefs are showing signs that they could be building something special

Arthur Zwane has now explained that they are constantly guiding the promising 18-year-old stylish midfielder, while the coach also touched on the key message he gave the teenager.

“For Mduduzi, we know the mentality of these youngsters and what is happening where he comes from,” said Zwane, as quoted by TimesLive.

“Most of us we were born and raised in Soweto. The mentality is that given praise too early makes these boys believe they have arrived. Luckily Mdu is a humble young man. We spent a lot of time with them (youngsters) to make them aware of what is going on out there and they listen.

“I told him today that no matter we are under pressure or we leading, I am going to give you the opportunity. I told him ‘I want to see you going out there to showcase your talent and expressing yourself’, and he did very well.

“With the size of his body, he went in and he was pressing, he was energetic and that’s what we need from our youngsters. This can only help our different age group national teams because the country needs players who can play at this level to get it right.”

Zwane also praised the team as a whole after goals from Ashley du Preez, Keagan Dolly and Shabalala earned the team its first win of the season.

“Yeah, look you know sometimes football is a funny game, I think the past game we played very well compared to today and we lost the game,” Zwane told SuperSport TV.

“And today we played in patches but we were clinical in front of goals and it could have been more. But I’m so proud of mostly the youngsters, you know who came on and kept the very same tempo.

“They took the game to the opposition because were already worried that they dropped the tempo at some point and allow them back into the game and their confidence grew and they could score at any given time from dead-ball situations or open play.”
