Kaizer Chiefs vs Amazulu: Amakhosi host Usuthu for the second time this season when they clash in the MTN 8 semi-final first leg on Sunday 2 October 2022.

The last three meetings between these two clubs have ended in a draw with Kaizer Chiefs last beating Amazulu back in January 2021.

There is a certain familiarity between these two teams as Chiefs striker Ashley du Preez points out.

Speaking to the club’s media team, he said: “Playing AmaZulu is nothing new. 

“We’ve played them in the league and this is a cup game. I think we can go out there and play to get the win and have the first-leg ‘under the belt’. It’s not going to be easy but we’ll go out and do our best.”

A former Glamour Boy in the ranks of Amazulu expects a tough assignment at the FNB Stadium.

“They’re one of the teams that are struggling to get going, but I feel like the teams that aren’t predictable are the most dangerous because you don’t know what to expect on the day, they could just rock up and it all works,” Keagan Buchanan said.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that tickets for this weekend’s MTN 8 semi-final first leg fixtures are still available but warned they might be snapped up soon.
