Since last season concluded, it’s quickly become an open secret that Chiefs have been looking for a striker to add to their squad as part of a club overhaul.

REPORT: CHIEFS SET TO SIGN PITSO’S FORMER ‘RIGHT-HAND MAN’

Up front, Amakhosi have only signed forward Ashley Du Preez after releasing the likes of Samir Nurkovic, Lazalous Kambole and Leonardo Castro, while the club was looking at Wayde Lekay, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Musa Kamara, who were said to be ‘on trial’ in the team camp.

Lekay is apparently no longer part of Chiefs’ planning as they are looking for an out-and-out striker, but according to iDiski Times, the club management have been very impressed by Bimenyimana.

He has apparently already scored two goals in three training matches, and is set to continue with Chiefs as they look to make a final decision on whether or not to sign him permanently.

According to KickOff.com, it’s now been reported that inside sources suggest the club have indeed opened negotiations with Bimenyimana’s representatives in hopes of settling on an agreement.

A positive meeting was apparently held on Saturday afternoon, and a decent deal looks to be on the cards for the talented striker, who has played previously in Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Rwanda.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs could reportedly be set to bolster their management team with the addition of a highly-regarded performance analyst.

According to Phakaaathi, Chiefs are currently in negotiations with Musi Matlaba, who most recently worked closely with Pitso Mosimane as a performance analyst at Al Ahly.

Matlaba also worked with Mosimane at Sundowns, before continuing to serve as a part of his team at Al Ahly. However, the duo both left the Egypt club recently after Mosimane opted to prematurely exit from his Al Ahly contract.

“Chiefs and Pitso have developed a good working relationship and he committed himself to helping them out in any way they need,” a Phakaaathi source commented.

“That is why it was not a surprise to hear that Chiefs are talking to Matlaba who is Pitso’s right hand man. He will definitely be a good addition to the club’s technical team.”

Chiefs recently added Muzi Maluleke as their new strength and conditioning coach, and could now welcome Matlaba to the management team, with negotiations apparently at an advanced stage.
