Crashing out of the Champions League in underwhelming fashion would’ve given the coach and club management much to think about.

And Mokwena has since opened up on what you can expect from the South African giants.

Mamelodi Sundowns will be busy – Mokwena

“For sure, like any big club there will be players leaving and signed. We have a responsibility to improve,” Sundowns coach Mokwena said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“The first way to improve and the most important way, is more, more work. More training, more video analysis, more development, more ideas, more advancement.

“We have to work a lot harder, give a little bit more and then try to bring in better players, which is very difficult because of the level we have, try to raise the standard and the energy in the club.

“And the way to bring in new energy is to bring in new players with higher levels of motivation so that they stimulate that energy amongst the squad.

“So we’ve had that discussion already, it’s not going to be big changes or too many.”

Ditlhokwe opens up on Amakhosi move

“One thing I can tell, I’m a captain of my national team; I’m a player for my national team. I captained my national team at the age of 21. So I don’t think there’s any pressure that can come more than what I’ve already passed through.” the Kaizer Chiefs-bound defender told iDiskiTimes.

“That is one thing you must consider. It’s a normal challenge that every player must face. For you to grow, you must have challenges. There’s no player that can grow without challenges. You need to be tested, so it’s a big test, I know.

“But at the end of the day, the same way I’ve managed [until now] is the same way I have will manage.”
