Moseamedi was a cult hero during his time at Maritzburg United but left seemingly seeking his shot at the ‘big-time’.

The striker has found himself being a free agent and while he has visited Maritzburg United, and possible held talks with the owners, he has not trained with the team.

Moseamedi doesn’t seem to be a player that the struggling Maritzburg United feel they can have on their books.

Judas Moseamedi has provided an update on his continued hunt for a new team after leaving DStv Premiership oufit Stellenbosch FC.

Moseamedi is back in his hometown of Tzaneen having spent a spell in KwaZulu-Natal surveying some options for a PSL return.

“I spent two days at Richards Bay, at the moment I’m home still putting something together,” Moseamedi told KickOff.

Maritzburg United not interested

While Maritzburg United confirmed that the former Team of Choice striker has been floating around recently they have debunked rumours that he will be moving back to Sleepy Hollow.

“He was here but he didn’t really train with the team,” a source said.

“I don’t think the club wants him back.”

Moseamedi gained a reputation for scoring big goals for Maritzburg in important matches.

However, as his time at the club wore on he also garnered the reputation for being largely anonymous in all other contests.

Still just 29-years-old there is some chance that his best years could still be ahead of him if he can remain fit.

As things stand though it seems that his mercurial spell at Maritzburg United might prove to be the highlight of a career that promised much and delivered little.
