MaMkhize’s Royal AM score R3.5 million from eThekwini municipality!

Royal AM’s life to the PSL has gotten even better after the eThekwini municipality confirmed that the club will be receiving R3.5 million.

Royal AM‘s life to the PSL has gotten even better after the eThekwini municipality confirmed that the club will be receiving R3.5 million.

The R3.5 million will be paid to Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize’s club on an annual bases by the city’s municipality.

And Royal AM will receive money from the municipality for as long as they compete in the PSL as confirmed by city mayor Mxolisi Kaunda.

According to Kaunda, two Durban-based outfits Golden Arrows and AmaZulu and rugby franchise Sharks are already receiving the financial support from the municipality.

Both Arrows and AmaZulu are on R3.5 million, meaning Roya AM will become a third PSL team to receive the incentive.

On the other hand, the Sharks are getting R4 million – and that’s because of their participation in the Super Rugby.

Kaunda, however, said AmaZulu’s budget will be reviewed now that the club is campaigning in the CAF Champions League.

“We are not supporting these three clubs, we are also supporting the Sharks,” said Kaunda as quoted by Daily Sun.

“We give Sharks more than what we give to our soccer clubs. We give them R4 million, while our soccer teams receive R3.5 million.

“What informs that, is the exposure internationally that the Sharks are bringing on board for the city to be marketed when they play the international games,” confirmed Kaunda.

But AmaZulu have also joined them now because they are representing us in Africa, the value that they are contributing to the city that will be taken into cognisance,” he added.
