Mamelodi Sundowns vs Orlando Pirates: Erasmus’ wait to score continues

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus will have to wait a little longer for his first goal against former club Orlando Pirates.

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus will have to wait a little longer for his first goal against former club Orlando Pirates since moving to Chloorkop.

The DStv Premiership match is scheduled for Friday, 17 December at Loftus Versveld Stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

Erasmus is yet to score against the Buccaneers since his arrival from Cape Town City in October 2020.

And he’s suspended for this encounter against Pirates after receiving his marching orders in Sundowns’ 2-1 win over Baroka.

In the only two games Erasmus faced Pirates whilst on their books, he didn’t find the back of the net despite playing over 100 minutes against them.

The only consolation for him is that he was on the winning side on both occasions as Sundowns proved too strong for Pirates.

Now, overall, Erasmus has faced Pirates eight times as a player while on the books of SuperSport United, Cape Town City and now Sundowns.

He has managed to find the back of net just twice in those eight matches, and the two goals came while he was contracted to Cape Town City.
