Mamelodi Sundowns return to DStv Premiership action this evening when they host Cape Town City.

Despite not playing in the league this past weekend, the Brazilians were crowned DStv Premiership champions after SuperSport United dropped points.

Rhulani Mokwena’s side are champions with an incredible seven matches to go!

While there’s not much to play for, for the hosts, City have it all to play for in terms of the race for second position.

“Maybe, sometimes in South Africa we don’t appreciate it enough. Mamelodi Sundowns are victims of our own success. So we undermine the difficulties of winning the Premiership.

“The league title is the hardest (trophy) to win in any country because we’ve got to play against 15 opponents, both home and away and the competition lasts for eight months.”
