Sundowns to unveil Mashego this week? Bumper deal lined up!

Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly set to unveil Cape Town City left-back Terrence Mashego this week, and his contract details have been confirmed.

According to Sowetan, Mashego will sign a four-year deal with the Brazilians after the two parties agreed terms some time last week.

A source known to the publication said City couldn’t resist the offer tabled by Sundowns for Mashego, and that the Tshwane giants have already paid the requested transfer fee.

IT’S A FOUR-YEAR DEAL FOR MASHEGO AT MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

“Yes, it’s true. The boy (Mashego) has been sold to Sundowns. I can’t reveal the fee Sundowns paid, but it’s something City couldn’t resist. Sundowns will announce him before the end of this week… it’s a four-year deal,” said the source.

Mashego’s absence in City’s maiden CAF Champions League match against Otoho d’Oyo last Saturday was seemingly explained after the news of him joining Sundowns emerged.

According to local reports, City decided against fielding Mashego in order to ensure that he is not Cup-tied for when he joins Sundowns.

Like City, Sundowns are also compaigning in the CAF Champions League, in fact, they want to go all out and win the trophy this season.

This has been their ambition since lifting the continental trophy in 2016, and their transfer dealings are a testimony to that, and Mashego will be expected to play a role in helping them achieve that goal.
