Mamelodi Sundowns can kickstart their Premiership title defence with a positive result against Kaizer Chiefs.

Mamelodi Sundowns starting XI prediction

Here is how Mamelodi Sundowns might line up against Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus.

There should be no surprises in goal, with Denis Onyango in possession of the gloves when it comes to league matches, despite Kennedy Mweene’s heroics against Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN 8.

With Kulisa Mudau out injured the door remains open for Thapelo Morena to make the right back position his own, but he is running out of time to impress. On the other flank Lyle Lakay was one of Sundowns better players in the MTN 8 matchup and his crossing could prove of great service to Peter Shalulile and company up front.

Rushine de Reuck and Grant Kekana have formed a partnership that could stand Mamelodi Sundowns in great stead going forward as two talented centre backs enter their best years.

Mothobi Mvala is fit to return and partner Rivaldo Coetzee in central midfield.

We believe Gaston Sirino will play as the deepest of essentially four attacking players, with Peter Shalulile and the returning Themba Zwane slotting in behind new recruit Pavol Safranko who is rumoured to be in line for his first start.
