Mamelodi Sundowns reignite interest in Moroccan centre-back

Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly reignited their interest in Moroccan centre-back Abdelmounaim Boutouil.

Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly reignited their interest in Moroccan centre-back Abdelmounaim Boutouil.

Boutouil is currently on loan at Raja Athletic Club from SCC Mohammédia, and he has done well for himself to become one of Sundowns’ targets.

According to iDiski Times, Sundowns have made contact with Boutouil but it is still early days as the transfer window is still far from closing.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS NEED AN EXPERIENCED CENTRE-BACK

Sundowns may have done tremendously well last season, especially domestically but their technical team admitted they needed to bolster their defence.

The departure of Ricardo Nascimento to Royal AM left a void in the centre-back position, and this was evident when the likes of Brian Onyango got injured.

The centre-back pairing of Mosa Lebusa and Onyango also showed cracks, and the Sundowns coaches even slotted in Grant Kekana in the centre-back position.
