Sundowns’ reported biggest earner to returns. Club minimum R50k

It’s easy to forget Bongani Zungu is back in Mzansi playing for Mamelodi Sundowns. We are going to see him in the Carling Black Label.

Mamelodi Sundowns‘ reported biggest Bongani Zungu has struggled for fitness but will be back in the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday.

Yes, he is believed to be getting paid bigger sums than the likes of Peter Shalullile, Themba Zwane, and Marcelo Allende. This is what a source close to the club has claimed.

Following what was one of the longest-ever negotiations in Sundowns’ history, the PSL champions and Zungu finally agreed on a deal before he was announced on 13 August.

The club further confirmed that the 29-year-old from Duduza, Gauteng joined as a free agent since leaving France Ligue 2 side Amiens SC in June.

According to a source close to the player and club, the former Bafana Bafana star takes home the biggest salary at Chloorkop.

“Yeah, Zungu is now the highest-paid player at Sundowns,” the source told KickOff.

“But unfortunately, I can’t reveal the exact figures due to ethical reasons.

“The good thing at Sundowns is that no player is earning less than R50 000, including those that have been promoted from the academy.

“Remember they also receive match bonuses among other benefits at Sundowns,” the source concluded.
