NEW MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STAR WEARS ERASMUS’ NUMBER

Following the arrival of the Chilean star Marcelo Allende this week, the R51 million record-signing made his debut on Wednesday night as Kabo Yellow thrashed Stellenbosch FC 3-0 at Loftus Versfeld.

The nippy attacker came on as a substitute wearing jersey number 11, which is a number that was worn by Erasmus last season.

RHULANI MOKWENA EXPLAINS

With Erasmus having been linked with a loan move to his former team Cape Town City this window, coach Rhulani was asked if the jersey number situation confirms if the reports are true.

Rhulani did not confirm or deny the reports. He said the PSL champions will make announcements in due course. But on transfers or just jersey numbers?

“I am the wrong person to ask. The club will give you the information on that,” Rhulani said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“The club has not said anything and therefore everybody who is here and registered for Sundowns is here. A lot of numbers have changed, but we have not asked that question before. Rushine (De Reuck) is wearing a different number.

“Tebza is wearing a different number,” Mokwena said following Sundowns’ 3-0 victory over Stellenbosch at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday.

“The club will make that communication. There is still some time. The club will make announcements in due course,” the Sundowns tactician concluded.
