It’s time to enjoy our Mamelodi Sundowns signing of the day. Here’s a player who played a big role in the club’s success over Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Once upon a time in Tshwane was a Nigerian striker. The name is none other than Raphael Chukwu.

The strapping center forward arrived in 1996 as a 24-year-old from Nigeria’s Shooting Stars before returning to Sundowns in 2000.

Known as The Chukwu Train, he delivered 63 goals in 124 PSL games.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR KABO YELLOW?

Meanwhile, Sundowns are switching to African football this weekend.

Kabo Yellow, having cruised to a 4-0 win over Bumamuru in the first leg round premilinary qualifier, will host the return game in Tshwane this weekend.

The game is set for 18:00 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
