Sundowns target Moroccan star Abdelmounaim Boutouil

Have we all forgotten about Mamelodi Sundowns? These are PSL champions. Reports says they’re eying a Moroccan.

PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns are rather quiet in the transfer window, but that’s how they operate.. until they unleash the biggest fish in the final days before deadline.

For now, Kabo Yellow are reportedly linked with a footballer from Raja Casablanca.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS TO SIGN MOROCCAN DEFENDER?

So what are the facts? The player is Abdelmounaim Boutouil, is aged 24, and plays as a central defender. You don’t get the finest attacking talent in North Africa, but a fine central defender is what you’ll get.

According to this report, the 2016 CAF Champions winners have enquired about Boutouil before he becomes a free agent as of 1 July.

Sundowns have also sounded out Moroccan Abdelmounaim Boutouil,” Soccer Laduma reported.

“The lanky star was last on the books of Raja Casablanca, although the 24-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian second division.

“Boutouil will be a free agent at the end of the month and Siya sources have informed the Siya crew that Sundowns are keen on adding the former Moroccan junior international to their star-studded squad next season,” the report concluded.

ONE SIGNING SO FAR

Meanwhile, Sundowns have so far made one signing with Sipho Mbule moving from SuperSport United to bravely fight for a place in the staggering Sundowns midfield department next season.

The club’s co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi recently confirmed to the media that the champions are in the marketing for a midfielder and central defender to replace the elegant left-foot that was Ricardo Nascimento.
