It’s becoming a thing. Sundowns’ inspirational co-coach Rhulani Mokwena is the latest local coach to attract suitors from the continent.

TANZANIAN GIANTS TARGET RHULANI MOKWENA

We’ve all heard of Simba SC, they’re one of the biggest clubs in CAF football. Reports say the Tanzanian royalty have had their eye on Mokwena for some time.

Simba initially registered interest in the 35-year-old coach in November 2021, but Mokwena did not return the interest, saying he is focused on Sundowns.

“Almost seven months later, the Siya crew has been led to believe that Simba are back enquiring about Mokwena’s availability…” Soccer Laduma reported in their latest edition.

“This time to replace Pablo Franco Martin, who was sacked with the gap between them and Young African in the Tanzanian Premier League an unprecedented 13 points,” the report added.

The report concluded to confirm that Mokwena still has two more years left on his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns. Simba would possibly need to buy him out of his contract or Mokwena would need to resign.

In related news, Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has reportedly turned his gaze on Kaizer and Sundowns target Bongani Zungu.
