Mamelodi Sundowns news | Another coach added to the technical team!

Mamelodi Sundowns have roped in an experienced coach as part of the club’s technical team, and this was confirmed by co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi on Wednesday.

According to Mngqithi, David Notoane has already been working with Sundowns players behind the scenes, and he’s responsible for those left behind on matchdays.

And Mngqithi feels Sundowns have been fortunate to have a very big technical team with experienced and capable personnel.   

“We are fortunate in that space because we have a very big complement of the technical team,” Mngqithi told reporters.   

“Even on the days when we are playing we still had coach David Notoane working with the players [who didn’t make the matchday squad],” he continued.

It’s not only Notoane who is part of the Sundowns technical team, and Mngqithi also mentioned the unsung heroes of the team’s success.

“We have Marcus Mashilo, the assistant goalkeeper coach, we had Riedoh Berdien the conditioning coach, and we always have one of the physios available,” added Mngqithi.  

“If Sakhi (Ngwevela) is here with us then Godfrey (Sepuru) is remaining with them,” he said.  

“Our other doctor, Dr Paul (Mapotho) was with them in the morning (Wednesday). We always have a full complement of a full technical team which is what one must also commend because every time we travel, the team remains with people that are competent enough to give their best,” added Mngqithi.

Notoane was the club’s Diski Challenge head coach before he was recruited by the South African Football Association (SAFA) to guide the SA U23 and Olympic team.
