Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi is wary of the threat posed by Summerfield Dynamos head coach Clinton Larsen.

Mamelodi Sundowns welcome minnows Summerfield Dynamos to the Loftus Versfeld stadium this evening in the Nedbank Cup last 8.

The former top flight coach who managed the likes of Bloemfontein Celtic, Golden Arrows and Chippa United currently acts as the manager of Dynamos.

Larsen has already secured his side’s spot in the ABC Motsepe League promotional playoffs after winning the KwaZulu-Natal stream while their Cup hopes rests on defeating the mighty Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mamelodi Sundowns wary of ‘Clinton Larsen’ factor!

“We have profiled the team and we realised that they have former Premier League players in their team.” Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi told the club’s media team.

“Some of them I have worked with like Nene (Jabulani), Zuke (Sandile) and Manzini (Lerato) who spent some time with Royal AM and spent more time at Bloemfontein Celtic.

“The number of games that they have played in their league is not very helpful as you know they have age restrictions but when it comes to the Nedbank Cup they are bringing a different team with a lot of experienced players.

“We are confident that Mamelodi Sundowns will have to give it our best shot and compete on the day.

“If you remember when he (Clinton Larsen) was at Bloemfontein Celtic in the Telkom Knockout Cup.” the Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach added regarding Dynamos coach Clinton Larsen.

“Remember the MTN 8 at Lucas Moripe and we are very aware that we are coming up against a very experienced coach and we need to thread very careful”
