Mamelodi Sundowns latest: Mngqithi showers ‘new signing’ Sirino with praise!

Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has showered Gaston Sirino with praise following his performance against Summerfield Dynamos on Saturday.

Sirino was handed a rare start after weeks of struggling with a nose injury, and the South American attacker didn’t disappoint.

Sirino opened the scoring as Sundowns thumped Clinton Larsen’s men 5-0 to book their place in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.

And for Mngqithi, having Sirino back from injury is like having a new signing, and the Sundowns technical team is pleased with his contribution.

“With Gaston is like a new acquisition for us, where we are excited as a technical team. When you look at Gaston you can say this is like a new player for us,” said Mngqithi to reporters.

“As he hasn’t played and he is fresh and can still help us going forward, and when he performs like this we get excited.

“When we see a player who is given an opportunity and then really stamping his authority it encourages us,” added Mngqithi.
