Mamelodi Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus is reportedly keen on a move back to Soweto as his future at Chloorkop looks gloomy.

According to a source known to Soccer Laduma, Erasmus’ high-salary package at Sundowns is the reason he feels he can join Kaizer Chiefs.

And this despite a number of clubs showing interest in his services with only a few that can be able to meet his asking monthly salary.

Previously, Erasmus was linked with a possible return to Cape Town City on loan but nothing came out of it perhaps because of his high salary demands.

KERMIT ERASMUS FANCIES KAIZER CHIEFS MOVE?

“No one can afford it unless Sundowns pays half of the wage. The player thinks he can join Chiefs,” said the publication’s source.

Furthermore, the reason Erasmus could be targeting a move to Chiefs is because he fancies his chances of playing regularly.

And that’s because Amakhosi look very thin upfront with only Ashley du Preez and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana as their only trusted strikers.

The duo, though, are still new in the team, and they are yet to find their feet at Naturena but with Erasmus, Chiefs would have an experienced campaigner with a proven goalscoring background in the PSL.

At Sundowns, Erasmus has managed to score 10 goals and providing seven assists in 43 matches since his arrival in 2020.
