High-flying Mamelodi Sundowns have tied the all-time record for log points scored after the first nine matches of any season since the PSL era kicked off in 1996/97.

The Tshwane giants have picked up 25 points (out of a possible 27) having won eight and drawn one of their matches to date this season.
Kaizer Chiefs registered a similar number in the 1996/97 and 2014/15 seasons, while Mamelodi Sundowns themselves did likewise in 1999/2000.

The Brazilians are well on their way to winning a fifth consecutive title and already hold a five-point lead with a match in hand.
