In one of the more bizarre transfer stories in 2023, Kaizer Chiefs can say that their conscience is clear regarding debts to Chicken Inn FC.

Kaizer Chiefs have already paid the money due to Chicken Inn FC over the transfer of Teenage Hadebe.

Kaizer Chiefs debts with Chicken Inn already settled
Chicken Inn have confirmed there is no FIFA transfer ban case against Amakhosi. The Glamour Boys were thought to be facing a ban over Teenage Hadebe’s move from Naturena to Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey’s back in 2019. This followed claims that Chiefs defaulted on payments to Chicken Inn over the player after his switch to Turkey triggered a sell-on clause (approximately $20k or just under R350,000). It was alleged that Chiefs had not paid this sum, but they actually have.
Chicken Inn have since come out to reveal that the Soweto giants delivered the final payment after a delayed process on the side of Hadebe’s Turkish team.

If you’ll excuse the pun, that’s a rather paltry amount of money for a club of Kaizer Chiefs’ stature.
“I can confirm that Kaizer Chiefs have fulfilled their side of the bargain,” the club’s secretary-general Tavengwa Hara told FARPost.
“The delays were by the Turkey club. We paid each other through FIFA, so the matter is resolved,” Hara added.
So, in other words, it’s all become a bit of a storm in a teacup situation after some wires got crossed.
Anyway, it’s past lunchtime and I haven’t had anything to eat. Perhaps a chicken sandwich would be appropriate.
