The 23-year-old joined the Team of Choice from Stellenbosch FC where he’d been a standout star over the past three seasons.

While Skelem will now call Pietermaritzburg home, moving in the other direction Judas Moseamedi has completed his move to Stellies for the upcoming season.
A Team of Choice statement read: “Maritzburg United have signed an exciting attacking player in Lelethu Skelem from Stellenbosch FC, with Judas Moseamedi set to move in the opposite direction. Pacey, mobile and with an eye for goal, Skelem will bring energy and industry to the Maritzburg front-line.
“Having turned 23-years-old in May, Skelem established himself as an exciting young prospect during his two seasons in the topflight with Stellenbosch, as well as a championship-winning campaign in the First Division with the Cape side. The forward plans to flourish in Pietermaritzburg and has revealed high ambitions.”
