PSL golden boot: Mhango, Shalulile finish as top goal-scorers
Gabadinho Mhango rediscovered his scoring boots to become the joint PSL top goal scorer at the end of the 2019/20 season, netting 16 times to clinch the prize.

Orlando Pirates striker Gabadinho Mhango extended his tally to 16 league goals on Saturday, finishing as the top goal-scorer in the PSL for the 2019/20 season.
The Malawian marksman began life in the biobubble rather slowly, failing to score in the Buccaneers’ first four fixtures.

However, he was back on the money in the 1-0 win over Maritzburg United in the penultimate round of PSL fixtures, scoring late to hand his side the victory.
Following that strike, all of Mhango, Highlands Park’s Peter Shalulile and Bradley Grobler were level on 15 goals
This was after his struggles, which allowed the likes of Shalulile, Kaizer Chiefs’ Samir Nurkovic and former Bucs striker Kermit Erasmus – who now plies his trade for Cape Town City – an opportunity to launch a challenge for the Golden Boot.
Shalulile netted once more to finish as joint goal-scorer with Mhango, while Amakhosi’s Serb striker finished at 13 goals after the Naturena-based outfit had a tough finished to the campaign, where they bottled a considerable lead at the top of the standings.
Not far behind is Knox Mutizwa from Golden Arrows, who was again on the money on Friday, as he converted from the spot when his side went down to Black Leopards.
The Zimbabwean international is tied with Bongi Ntuli, who has netted all but three of AmaZulu’s goals this season.
Erasmus, along with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Themba Zwane, are the other player to have reached double-figures so far, with the City striker registering 12 goals to his name, while his Bafana teammate finished with 11, his best tally as a professional.
Last season’s PSL golden boot winner, Mwape Musonda is some distance away from claiming the prize a second consecutive time, having scored nine times in the league after a slow start to the season.
