Premier Soccer League clubs aren’t renowned for handing out long-term contracts so a three-year deal for Yusuf Maart at Kaizer Chiefs is something of a surprise.

Chiefs clearly have faith in the player and have included an option to extend his deal by two years.

“It’s something that the two clubs first agreed on in May already but there were some issues that needed to be ironed out before the deal could be concluded. Now that the player is back from the national team and with the clubs having concluded with the issues that were outstanding, the deal has been signed and sealed. It’s a three-year deal with an option to extend for two years,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
