Kaizer Chiefs have the inside track on Mokoena

Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Bafana Bafana star Teboho Mokoena.

While SuperSport United have repeatedly stated they would prefer to broker a move overseas for both Mokoena and midfield partner Sipho Mbule, Kaizer Chiefs might be the preferred local option.

Matsatsantsa are not keen on selling to Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns but reportedly have an interest in developing a relationship with Kaizer Chiefs.

South African midfielder Mothusi Gopane has returned home and hopes to secure a move to a Premier Soccer League team.

The former Polokwane City man had been plying his trade in Cambodia with Boeung Ket FC, but he opted not to extend his stay in South East Asia.

“I’ve been in Cambodia since 2020 and have played for Boeung Ket FC for two seasons until my contract ended. We then decided not to extend it and come back to the PSL,” Gopane told the Soccer Laduma

“It feels good to be back in SA. I’m currently a free agent and am open for any opportunity that may come up to play in the PSL. I’m talking to anyone for now.” 

Orlando Pirates to renew interest in Cape Town City star

Orlando Pirates are fairly well-staffed in the midfield but reportedly remain keen on securing the signature of Thabo Nodada, according to Goal.com.

The Sea Robbers have made contact with the player over a possible move but there has been no word from City over a possible sale.

Cape Town City chairman John Comitis said only that Orlando Pirates had not tabled an offer for Nodada when pressed on the issue.

Kaizer Chiefs want Ethiopian striking prospect

Kaizer Chiefs could yet again look abroad to solve their problems in front of goal with Amakhosi linked to Abubeker Nassir.

The 21-year-old scored 29 goals in 22 Ethiopian Premier League games last season. He also scooped the league’s Most Valuable Player and Best Young Player accolades.

Kaizer Chiefs will have to splash the cash to get their man though, as Nessir recently signed a five-year deal with Ethiopia Bunna.
