Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu has dropped a hint that he could be heading to Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Zungu’s contract with French Ligue 2 club Amiens comes to an end in June and that means he could be set for a return to South Africa.

The link to Kaizer Chiefs has been established, albeit with a threadbare connection, on Instagram as Zungu posted an image with himself greetings Bafana fans with Amakhosi mentor Stuart Baxter in the frame.

Orlando Pirates are also rumoured to be interested in signing Zungu when he becomes available.

With Ayanda Patosi eligible to sign a pre-contract a former Kaizer Chiefs star has urged the club to snap up the midfield talent.

A former player has suggested that Patosi could add a spark of creativity that is sorely missing at Kaizer Chiefs.

“For creativity, the boy (Patosi) is one player that Chiefs need to add to their midfield because he is very good and is experienced. He is skilful and is a good passer of the ball which I think is what Chiefs need right now instead of playing with defensive midfielders,” former Chiefs midfielder Humphrey Mlwane commented in an interview with Soccer Laduma.

Amazulu in for Orlando Pirates’ Zungu

Nkanyiso Zungu has been linked with a move away from Gauteng to the PSL’s hottest destination right now, Durban.

Amazulu are rumoured to be interested in signing the midfielder but face competition from Stellenbosch FC.

“Nkanyiso Zungu from Orlando Pirates has attracted interest from AmaZulu. The club is monitoring his situation although they are likely to face competition from Stellenbosch who are also keen on the player’s services,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

Shane Roberts joins Galaxy on loan

Cape Town City man Shane Roberts has joined TS Galaxy for a six month loan spell with Mpumalanga’s TS Galaxy.

“TS Galaxy Football Club is delighted to confirm that the club has reached an agreement with Cape Town City for the services of Shane Roberts on a six-month loan deal,” Galaxy confirmed in a statement as reported by Kickoff.

“The 23-year-old midfielder rose to prominence for the Citizen when he made his professional debut back in 2018 against Kaizer Chiefs and has not looked back since then.”
