At the beginning of this year, Mozambican international defender Edmilson Dove parted ways with Cape Town City, having expressed interest in going to a club where he would have regular game-time. Interestingly, several months later, he has now been spotted at Chiefs.

REPORT: R33-MILLION TABLED FOR PERCY TAU

The 27-year-old left-back didn’t feature much last season, but did ultimately make over 100 appearances for Cape Town City after joining the club in 2017. Dove had previously been linked with AmaZulu, but he is now being assessed at Naturena.

Coach Arthur Zwane did not reveal much about the former Cape Town City defender when recently asked if Dove will be their latest addition to the squad, but other talk has recently suggested he has undergone team medicals.

“We’re looking to beef up the squad in certain positions, inviting Dove was a case of just looking at him and we’ll take it from there,” he told journalists.

According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs are indeed lining up a deal for Dove, who is said to fit into Chiefs’ current budget plans.

Football publication Transfermarkt values Dove at €350 000, which equates to just less than R6-million.

Apparently a deal between the two parties could be concluded in the coming days.
