The 21-year-old Peprah finished the year in style by bagging the equaliser – and winner – against Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu on Thursday.

Three days prior to that he also scored both goals when the Buccaneers came from behind to triumph 2-1 over Marumo Gallants.

Kwame Peprah thanked everyone at Orlando Pirates

Peprah joined Orlando Pirates from King Faisal in his homeland four months ago and struggled to find the net before ending his barren spell against Marumo Gallants.

“I have improved little by little while adapting to South African football and the lack of goals never discouraged me,” he said after the victory over AmaZulu.

“My gratitude to everyone at Pirates, especially the players and coaches, for keeping faith in me. I hope my four goals this week is just the beginning.”

Peprah became just the sixth player in Orlando Pirates’ history since the PSL era kicked off in the 1996/97 season to score back-to-back braces.

He was the first to do so since Tendai Ndoro in the 2016/17 season.

The other four players to have achieved the feat were Denis Lota, Pollen Ndlanya, Lelo Mbele and Excellent Walaza.

Those two wins within four days helped lift Orlando Pirates to second place in the standings, 14 points behind runaway leaders Mamelodi Sundowns as the season breaks for Christmas.
