Reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the arrival of midfielder Khuliso Mudau, who joins the club from top-flight rivals Black Leopards.

The Tshwane giants have been one of the busier clubs in the transfer market, adding the likes of Peter Shalulile and Kermit Erasmus to their roster ahead of the new season.

Having unveiled over a dozen new signings since claiming a third consecutive league title, Sundowns lifted the lid on their latest transfer on Friday.

Mudau joins on a five-year deal after three seasons at Leopards, a period in which he helped the club gain promotion at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

During his spell at Lidoda Duvha, he made more than 50 top-flight appearances, featuring in all but seven of their league fixtures in the recently-concluded season, where he was an integral part of their fight against relegation.

At his new home, he links up with former teammate Lesedi Kapinga, who is among the new signings at Sundowns after his release from the Limpopo-based outfit.

Return from loan

Meanwhile, Sundowns also announced that defender Nyikko Mobbie is back with the first-team squad after a loan spell at Cape outfit, Stellenbosch.

The 26-year-old joined the Brazilians from Free State Stars before the start of the 2019/20 season, but is yet to make his debut for the club.

This is after he was immediately shipped off to the Winelands, where he made 27 appearances, finding the net once.

Other players recently unveiled by Sundowns include former Ajax Cape Town teammates Jody February and Grant Margeman, as well as Bafana midfielder Mothobi Mvala, who joined from Highlands Park.

Sundowns open the season with an MTN 8 clash against Bloemfontein Celtic, before taking on Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium as they begin their league title defence.
