Kaizer Motaung Jnr’s assurance to Zwane: ‘There won’t be any interference’

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr has assured newly-appointed coach Arthur Zwane that there won’t be any interference from the management.

Zwane’s appointment was met with mixed feelings from Amakhosi fans as others felt the 48-year-old mentor will not make decisions on his own.
Kaizer Jnr said his father and chairman Kaizer Motaung has never been an individual who tells coaches what to do, who to play and who should not play.

The Amakhosi boss added that while Chiefs have their own philosophy, coaches are allowed to implement their ideas that will improve the team.
And there will be no exception with Zwane who has been at Chiefs for 22 years both as a player and a coach.

Kaizer Jnr further revealed that there would be no need for Chiefs to employ a coach if the management was calling the shots on who to play.

“I can assure you 100% that there won’t be any interference. We always have to be as professional as possible,” said Motaung Jnr to reporters.
“Every coach that’s hired here, the chairman has never been the person to tell the coach who to put on or what direction to take.
“The club’s philosophy is that every coach that comes is given the freedom to implement what he believes will improve the team,” he continued.
“He [Zwane] has all the freedom to come and implement his ideas that’s why he is employed otherwise there would be no point in hiring a coach.
“With utmost respect, the bond is important, but alignment is important, and of course, respecting the duties and responsibilities of coaches is paramount,” added Motaung Jnr.
